Ms. Tattries' 24 - Hour Push for a Cure
Dear GES Community,
Our school has decided to host a Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life event at our school, and support Canadians in their cancer journeys.
Our event will take place on: May 26th and 27th.
Relay For Life is a global movement to end cancer. It is active in 29 countries and 6,000 communities worldwide. Relay For Life brings together students, teachers, family members, and friends to celebrate cancer survivors with a Survivors’ Lap. Our grade 6 and 7 students will take part in a special Luminary Ceremony and each class will participate in the walk during the school day May 26th and May 27th.
This year we are carrying Ms. Tattrie in our hearts 💞 who has been battling cancer. Ms. Tattrie spent her career supporting our most vulnerable learners and singlehandedly championed Family First. She has done amazing things in all her years at Gibsons Elementary and now it is our turn to fight for her.
We are hoping that you may want to get involved as well, as you are an important part of our school community, and this is how!
You can donate online through our school Relay for Life website at Relay For Life and help us reach out goal!
If your child wishes to collect offline donations, forms will be available in the office. Please place money with the completed form in a Ziplock bag or envelope and return to the school by May 23rd.
